Buddy was the love of our lives. We adopted him from Rescue a Golden in May of 2024. He was 1.5 years old. He came to us withdrawn and afraid after being abused a backyard breeder in Tucson. Two other fosters tried to reach him, but he stayed inside himself. preferring to be alone.
It took months but Buddy slowly came out of his shell. He responded to me (his Mama) instead of any males because of the prior abuse. He became animated, loving and talked whenever he wanted something. And he was so smart. Add to that really handsome because he was Mr. May of the RAG 2025 calendar.
He ran away one evening when I was out of town and after days of drones and many people hiking and biking and looking everywhere he remained allusive.
He was found deceased in the desert yesterday and our world caved in.
He had so much love in him and he deserved a much better beginning and end. He will never be forgotten. RIP my Buddy
