Poor sweetie Moonlight (Moon or Moonie) is still struggling to acclimate to her new life of freedom and love. She is still very very fearful, but she’s very sweet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.
We don’t have a lot of pictures of her, because if she catches you looking at her, she skedaddles away. She spends probably 90 to 95% of her time in her safe space; rather, one of three safe spaces. One is a bed under an end table between the window, a chair and the fireplace. Another is her bed in our bedroom, and the third is another bed near the living room between a chest and a wall with a couch behind her.
She is definitely a little more comfortable when she has Carly by her side or when she can see that Carly is okay with something. But she still prefers to be by herself, left alone in her safe space. She is still decompressing from whatever horrible traumas she has been through.
