Things are going very well. Despite never having lived in a house, Charlie has never tried to relieve himself indoors and has learned to navigate my furniture without knocking things over all the time (as he initially did, he was rough on his surroundings).

He is very friendly with other dogs and loves people. My granddaughters are 9 and 11 and they absolutely adore him. When they come to spend the night, he chooses between which one he wants to sleep with.

My only concern is that he is a bit bored. I understand that he was kept outside but was with other animals and I think my home just being the two of us doesn’t provide as much stimulation. I don’t think I’ll be getting another dog but will continue to look for social situations to keep getting him out of the house, avoiding dog parks We walk twice a day for over a mile each time and continue to make new friends. He loves a ride in the car, too, and doesn’t mind waiting in the car for a few minutes so I can run quick errands.

It took him a couple weeks to get over the corneal ulcer that he had when I got him, but his health seems perfect. His coat has gone from wiry and unmanageable to shiny and smooth. He gets constant compliments for being so handsome 🥰

I hope I have provided enough info for you to get a sense of how he’s doing. He’s an absolute love and I was smitten from the jump. The golden breed never disappoints, and he certainly has taken a chunk of space in my heart.
