What can I say about Bailey? She has changed my husband and my life drastically! Upon arrival, she was so mellow and calm and we thought she was just the most perfect golden we could have ever hoped for since I am in a wheelchair and needed a calm dog. We soon found out Bailey has a pretty serious case of Valley Fever and has been on meds for it since mid May.

The medication took a while to kick in and we had to do all sorts of things to get Bailey to eat. Cooking for her takes more time and planning than cooking for my husband! In fact, some nights we eat the same thing she does!!

Adding a supplement the vet recommended called Desert Defense, Bailey has started putting on weight, her coat is filling in a bit, (although we found out she is a “field golden retriever” so she will look a bit different, and her energy level is off the roof!

So, our quiet, sweet, little golden, is really a warrior queen who runs the neighborhood, soars over a four and a half foot fence with ease to chase a squirrel, chews all of her toys to pieces, and wormed her way into our hearts with her affection and love.

The worst possible fit we thought for us turned out to be the best possible fit for us. Bless you all for saving our Bailey and changing our lives for the better!
