Keila is healthy and has the typical Golden Retriever appetite! We feed her Instinct raw frozen food, which she enjoys, followed by a Greenie. We avoid giving her table scraps.
We’ve taken a couple of vacations, leaving her with house sitters. The first sitter, a server from our restaurant, worked evenings and wasn’t around much to take her to the dog park. Keila let us know that wasn’t good by chewing on the couch, a couple of rugs, and an antique piece of furniture! For our next trip, we hired a local sitter who stayed with her full-time, and Keila was just fine. We live in a retirement community and there are many former dog owners who love to dog-sit. We also took her on a four-day road trip to my son’s home in Southern California, and she did fine.
The only challenge has been her name. We chose not to change it because she had already been through a lot before coming to us. The tricky part is that our previous dog was named Kelly, and our granddaughter is Kieley, so I get them confused at times!
We adore Keila, and she seems very happy here.
