Meet Toby – Our 100th Dog of the Year!🐾🐾🐾
Some dogs find their way to us in unexpected ways, and Toby's story is a reminder of how important it is to be there when a dog needs us most. Toby is a handsome 2½-year-old Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 80 pounds, with a big heart and, by all accounts, an equally big personality! This goofy boy loves people, gets along well with other dogs, and is always happy to soak up some attention, especially if belly rubs are involved. Toby came to the Humane Society of the White Mountains as a stray and, sadly, has spent far too long waiting for someone to give him a chance. When severe storms caused devastating flooding and dangerous road conditions around the shelter, the staff put out an urgent call for help. With limited access to the shelter and so many dogs needing to be relocated, they were facing an especially difficult situation. Although Toby isn't the typical dog we take into our rescue, we knew we had to make an exception. And fittingly, this special boy becomes our 100th dog welcomed into RAGofAZ this year! Toby is now on his way to a fresh start, and we can't wait to help him find the loving home he deserves. He may need a little patience and understanding as he settles into a home environment again, particularly with house training after spending so much time in a shelter. But with kindness, consistency, and a family willing to give him time to adjust, we think this sweet, goofy guy has so much love to give. Toby has already had a long wait for his happily-ever-after. Now it's time for the next chapter of his story to begin. Could that chapter be with you?Donate Today
