Meet Payson ! 🐾 Payson is a handsome 9-month-old English Cream Golden Retriever with a big personality and even bigger puppy energy! Payson is still very much in his playful, curious stage and will thrive with a family ready to guide him through training and help him channel that enthusiasm in positive ways. Like many young pups, Payson loves to chew—on just about anything he can find—and has a habit of picking up rocks, so he’ll need supervision and plenty of appropriate chew toys. He also enjoys digging, making a secure yard and some structure important for his success. Payson has been exposed to a variety of animals, including other dogs, cats, rabbits, and even livestock. He’s also been around teenagers. While he can be a bit shy when meeting new people, he warms up with a little patience and kindness. He is not yet crate trained or doggy door trained, so his new family should be prepared to continue working on basic training and routines. The good news—he rides great in the car, making him a wonderful companion for outings and adventures.

Upon intake, dogs are given a complete exam by a licensed veterinarian, updated on vaccinations (if necessary), spayed or neutered (if not already done), tested for heartworm and fecal parasites, and microchipped.
