The day that Lucy entered our lives from Rescue A Golden changed our family forever. Lucy filled a hole that we didn’t know existed. She filled that hole with love. She is always there when one is upset or needs a dog to pat.
Lucy could be the poster dog for Golden Retrievers. Lucy has a loving, gentle, and loyal personality. She is devoted to our family. When my oldest daughter was packing to leave home, Lucy knew it wasn’t just another vacation. She climbed into my daughter’s suitcase and lay down. Lucy didn’t want to be left behind. She is a faithful companion.
Lucy is the “good dog.” She wants to please and was easily trained. Lucy is a rule follower and would bark if our other dog broke the “rules.”
Lucy is the good dog but she has her ways of showing her displeasure. At our last vet visit, after being poked and prodded, Lucy had had enough. Some dogs might bark or nip. That was not Lucy’s style. Lucy went to the corner of the exam room. She circled and lay with her back to the vet. Getting Lucy’s back is the ultimate burn!
We’ve been blessed to have Lucy as a member of our family for all of these years. Although her face and paws are white with age, her heart is still Golden.
