Rescue a Golden of Arizona

Meet

Joey

Age: 3 years old
Sex: Male
Color: Blond fur
Meet Joey, a 3-year-old neutered male whose owner sadly realized he deserves more time and attention than she can give. When Joey was picked up, it was discovered that he wasn’t feeling well and needed surgery, during which a large rock was removed from his stomach. He is now recovering nicely and is expected to do well with continued care and good nutrition. Joey has spent much of his time in a crate and apartment, so he would love a home where he can stretch his legs, enjoy companionship, and truly be part of daily life. He is currently underweight but is friendly, sweet, and wonderful with kids. He rides nicely in the car and absolutely loves to swim. Joey hasn’t lived with other pets, but he has been friendly with dogs he meets on walks. With proper introductions, he may do well with a canine companion. He knows a few basic commands and, while he hasn’t had formal training, he’s eager to please and ready to learn. Joey is looking for a family who can offer patience, love, and an active, caring home as he continues to recover and thrive.
