Join a rescue team

Our teams are the heart and soul of the rescue process. From the moment we learn that a Golden needs us, our teams spring into action. Training is always provided. Volunteer needs on these teams may vary but one might be perfect for you.

Currently we are seeking volunteers for the following teams:

INTAKE: Respond to inquiries about surrendering a dog and gather information about the dog – right from the comfort of your own home using your phone and computer.

HOME VISIT: Evaluate adoption applications, assess a potential “forever” home both on-site and/or virtually, and familiarize future adopters with our process.

TRANSPORT: Give a Golden a “Lyft” to its new home! You will literally provide a “pick up and deliver” service for our rescued dogs.

Join our administrative team

From time to time, we need new volunteers to help make the rescue magic happen behind the scenes. These roles are perfect for people who enjoy home-based work, have strong organizational skills, and are comfortable using a computer.

Currently we are seeking volunteers for the following positions:

VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR: Perfect for the volunteer who wants a “work from home” job managing online applications and funneling them to team leaders.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT: Put your technology skills to use by working with our volunteers to develop and maintain our data tracking systems, website, payment processing, and electronic communications.

Help plan or participate in our events

We will reach out to our members whenever we are planning a special program or will be participating in a community event such as an adopt-a-thon, home show, or parade. Our members receive emails inviting them to join us with all the details. Look for us on social media too!

FOSTER FAMILIES – AN ONGOING NEED:

Become a part of our foster team and provide a temporary home for a Golden in need. It’s incredibly rewarding! You’ll go through the same screening process as adoptive families. Once approved, you decide which dogs come into your home and provide daily care, training, and socialization.
