After enduring sudden losses of two previous goldens, we were a little hesitant to take on another, but put ourselves on the adoption list just in case. We were on the list for nearly a year, getting calls when we weren’t quite emotionally ready, or responding too slowly to get a potential placement. My husband and son were at our local market over the Thanksgiving weekend when they met Daisy, another RAGofAZ placement. My husband came home and said, let’s just stay on the list and see what happens. Well, what happened was a call and placement the very next day! We received sweet Goldie and have not looked back. She is just a sweet, affectionate, playful dog. She minds very well and just has the sweetest character. Did I mention she is incredibly sweet? She loves her toys and always carries them around the house. She digs through the bucket of toys until she finds just the right one, and we often come home to them strewn about the house. Socks, shoes and wool dryer balls also keep her company. During her initial vet visit, we found Goldie has a mild case of Valley Fever, and RAGofAZ has been incredible in helping us get this treated and helping navigate the medical visits. Overall, we are so glad we went with RAGofAZ and that they brought Goldie to us. She has enjoyed extended visits to Flagstaff with our son, enjoys daily walks through the neighborhood and through her sweet nature she settled right in with our resident senior doggie, Maya. Thank you RAGofAZ!
