We finally had a chance to take Casey back to the vet to get an updated weight. When we first got her at the end of July she weighted 146lbs. Today she was 130lbs! I thought she’d actually lost more, but I guess 16lbs is okay for now. 🙂 Dr. wants her to get to 90/100lbs. So we have some more work ahead of us. But now that the weather might cool down, we’ll start taking more walks. Her back legs are also pretty weak, so exercising will help on multiple fronts.

But so far, Casey is doing great! She gets along perfectly with our other two dogs, and they’ve become quite pals. And she is great with our two kids, even though she didn’t have much exposure to younger kids before coming here. She’s very gentle.

I mentioned that she’s been losing weight, and we’ve been letting her fur grow back in. I believe she may have been shaved prior?? So, now we’re starting to really see her beautiful golden LONG locks! She’s really looking quite splendid these days!

She LOVES sitting outside. Especially during the mornings. And she quite enjoys the company of our chickens. 🙂

All in all, everyone is doing great. I feel like the transition has officially occurred, and she feels at home here, and we are smitten with her. . 🙂
