Sailor is a 2-year-old, 85-pound dark golden retriever with a big personality!
Sailor is a friendly, affectionate pup who absolutely adores people—especially kids! His excitement sometimes gets the better of him, and he may jump or bark when greeting new friends, but with a little training and guidance, his exuberant greetings can easily be redirected into more polite hellos.
He’s mostly housebroken and is learning the ropes when it comes to leash walking and car rides. Like many young goldens, Sailor is still working on his manners—he’s been known to do some counter surfing, digging, and chewing—but with the right structure and positive reinforcement, he’ll thrive. Obedience training would be a great way to channel his energy and build his confidence.
Sailor can be a vocal guy, especially around his food, but his current family describes him as more protective than aggressive. He hasn’t shown signs of door-dashing, but his curious nature means a watchful eye is always a good idea.

Upon intake, dogs are given a complete exam by a licensed veterinarian, updated on vaccinations (if necessary), spayed or neutered (if not already done), tested for valley fever and microchipped.
