Eliza is a sweet and affectionate young mixed female who was found wandering in a rural area of Cornville. Estimated to be around one to two years old, she still has a playful, puppy-like demeanor. She first appeared near a river by her finder’s home, gradually moving closer until she began sleeping on their porch. After several days of no one coming forward to claim her, they took her in and have been caring for her for the past few weeks.
Eliza is incredibly smart—so smart that she has figured out how to open the yard gate! However, she doesn’t dig or jump fences. While she initially chewed on things indiscriminately, she quickly learned to stick to her toys. She spends most of her days outside but comes inside at night to sleep. She is wonderfully gentle with children, happily snuggling with them and rolling over for belly rubs. Even bath time is no trouble for her! She also gets along well with other dogs and even plays and sleeps with the cats in the home.
This water-loving girl enjoys swimming and loves car rides. She knows basic commands like Sit, Shake, and Speak and only barks to communicate when she needs to go out, wants food, or is looking for attention. She has shown no signs of fear and is comfortable around new people. Despite her challenging start, Eliza is incredibly lucky—her finders initially took her to a shelter, only to learn she would be put down due to lack of space and her knack for opening gates. Refusing to accept that fate, they took her back home and worked tirelessly to find her a safe place. Now, thanks to RAGofAZ stepping in, Eliza has the chance to find her forever home.
Eliza’s affectionate nature, intelligence, and resilience make her an incredible companion. She is ready to find a loving home where she can continue to thrive and bring joy to her new family. Could that be with you?
