Duke

Age: 7 years old
Sex: Male
Color: White fur
Weight: 100 lbs
Duke is a 7 year old intact male who recently found himself in an uncertain situation after his elderly owner, who had him since he was just five months old, passed away. With no family members willing to keep him, Duke was placed on Craigslist and was at risk of being taken to the pound—until his current owner took him in. Since Duke has only been with his current owner for a short time, there is still much to learn about him. However, he has been nothing but friendly and well-mannered. He currently lives outdoors in the backyard and gets along well with the resident small dogs and another Golden Retriever. While he shows some interest in chasing the cat and chickens, he has been kept from doing so. He is reportedly house-trained according to his previous owner and does not dig, chew, or jump. Duke has shown great leash manners, knows how to sit, and comes when called. He enjoys water, having gone into a small play pool in the yard, but he has not attempted to enter the larger swimming pool. He is also wonderful with children, as he currently lives with kids aged 7, 10, and 14. So far, he has displayed no fears or anxieties.
