Rescue A Golden of AZ (RAGofAZ) serves the state of Arizona. We will adopt to any area within the state where we can do a home visit by a trusted volunteer.

🐾Thinking About Applying?

Here’s Why It’s Totally Worth It.

We know what you’re thinking:
“$35 to apply? And then I have to wait? Is this even worth it?”

Short answer: Yes.
Longer answer: It’s not just about getting a dog—it’s about getting the right dog.

💛 We’re Matchmakers, Not a Waiting List

At Rescue A Golden of Arizona, we don’t do first-come, first-served.
We carefully review every application and complete a home evaluation to make sure each Golden goes to the home that fits them best.
That means your application isn’t just a form—it’s your story. It helps us find the Golden who’s meant to be yours.

🕰️ Yes, There Might Be a Wait…

We can’t predict how long it may take to place a dog with you, and we can’t guarantee that a dog matching your exact request will become available. Especially if you’re hoping for a young, healthy, already-trained Golden—lots of families are looking for that unicorn.

But most of our dogs?
They’re older. They may need medication. They may need a little help with manners.
And they’re still absolutely wonderful.

🐶 Want to Be Matched Sooner?

Be open.

To different ages
To both genders
To dogs with quirks or minor medical needs

The more flexible you are, the more likely we’ll find your match.

💸 About That $35 Fee…

A $35 nonrefundable, tax-deductible application processing fee is required with each Foster/Adoption Application Form (this applies to both foster and adoption applications).
As a thank-you, new applicants also receive a complimentary one-year membership in RAGofAZ.

The fee doesn’t guarantee instant adoption—but it helps us rescue, vet, and care for these amazing dogs. And it’s a meaningful step toward changing a dog’s life. Maybe even yours, too.

❤️ So… Why Apply?

Because when your Golden finally trots into your life—tail wagging, eyes full of trust—you’ll know it wasn’t random.
It was meant to be.

On the application, you’ll be able to let us know whether you’re interested in fostering, adopting, or both.
