Meet Daisy! This sweet 4.5-year-old, 85-pound red Golden Retriever is a former breeder dog who’s looking for a patient and loving forever home. Spayed, healthy, and up to date on all vaccinations, Daisy has made great progress thanks to time spent at a professional trainer’s facility. She’s crate-trained, potty-trained, and knows all her basic commands—she even comes when called with “Come Come.”
Daisy’s early life was spent mostly confined, so she still shows signs of anxiety and prefers the comfort of her crate or a quiet corner, especially when first adjusting to a new environment. But with a little time and encouragement, she’ll emerge to play with other dogs and bond closely with her people. In fact, she’s a total “velcro dog” who loves to cuddle and be near you, often resting her paw on your leg when she wants to go out or just needs some affection.
She walks nicely on a leash, loves car rides, is mellow and affectionate, and has no issues with loud noises or being touched anywhere. She will chase rabbits, but has not been exposed to cats. Daisy gets along well with other dogs and would thrive with a canine companion to help show her the ropes of being a family pet. She doesn’t resource guard, shares her toys, and only chews on her own belongings. While she’s not a swimmer and still working on avoiding the counter, she’s quick to respond to gentle corrections.
Daisy needs a calm, understanding home—ideally with someone around most of the time and possibly another friendly dog to guide her.
