Rayna was a puppy mill dog and had been with her adopter for 11 weeks. She is a very sweet girl with the calm nature typical of Golden Retrievers.
She has made good progress with leash training, and has overcome many of her fears, such as:
Rayna gets along with cats and plays with other dogs, is not a counter surfer, nor is she afraid of loud noises or thunder. She will dart out the front door. She craves attention and needs to be near her human. She is afraid of crates and cries all night when confined, which is too stressful for her.
Unfortunately, Rayna struggles with the concept of going outside to eliminate, and her adopter regretfully has to give her up.
Rayna would thrive in a home with a doggy door or an enclosed back porch where she can be confined at night.
Less than half the veterinary costs for a rescued Golden are covered by the adoption fee.
Please consider a contribution to help with our care.
Upon intake, dogs are given a complete exam by a licensed veterinarian, updated on vaccinations (if necessary), spayed or neutered (if not already done), tested for valley fever and microchipped.
