Dear Rescue A Golden of Arizona family and friends,
In late spring, three female Golden Retrievers came to Rescue A Golden of Arizona pregnant, scared, and scarred from life at a breeding facility. It was impossible to know how many times these sweet mommas had already given birth, and the level of trauma they had experienced was equally incalculable.
With time and care, Bailey, Sunny, and Ella finally came to accept the touch of human kindness and learned to trust their rescuers. Within a single week, all three gave birth to their LAST litters, delivering a total of 23 Golden nuggets. These puppies have all been placed in loving homes – and they will never know the exhaustion and fear their mothers experienced.
Sadly, we see stories like this all too often. And it’s because of you – our compassionate members, volunteers, donors, and caregivers – that Rescue A Golden of Arizona was able to help nearly 160 Goldens, including 50 puppies, recover from illness, injury, and neglect and find their way to forever homes. As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for all that you have done to support our mission.
We thank our volunteers, who handle all responsibilities for the dogs entrusted to our protection. Your selfless commitment – from first call to final adoption – is invaluable to ensuring our dogs receive the love and care they deserve.
We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to our generous donors, who have made our rescue financially sound. Your contributions enable us to provide the necessary medical care, food, and shelter for our rescued dogs. Without your support, we would not be able to save these deserving Goldens.
We cannot overlook the critical importance of our many fosters and caregivers, who help and heal our rescued Goldens. Because of their love and patience, hundreds of Goldens have a new chance at life with their forever families.
We are grateful to our administrative staff, who oversee our website, technology, finances, events, donor relations, and other aspects of nonprofit management. Your tireless efforts behind the scenes are instrumental to running our organization smoothly and efficiently.
Finally, we would like to recognize Bob Wood, our longtime board member who passed away earlier this year, for his incomparable contributions to Rescue A Golden of Arizona and the larger rescue community. His love and passion for Goldens and rescue work leaves a hole in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
We are so grateful for your dedication and commitment to our cause and the success of our organization. Your unwavering support enables us to continue our mission of rescuing and rehoming Goldens in need. We wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy new year!
All for the love of a Golden!
