RAGofAZ wants you! Join our Home Visit & Transport Teams today

Be like Wilma and join the Transport Team!

Many of you know that Rescue A Golden of Arizona is doing a booming business this year having rescued nearly 100 Goldens since New Year’s Day! In fact, we are in the midst of a “Puppypalooza” and will be delivering 23 “golden nuggets” in 4-5 weeks.

Can you help us get all these pups (and other rescued dogs) to their forever homes? Yes? Here’s how:

Become a member of our Home Visit Team so you can meet and evaluate future adopters to ensure we find the best match for each dog. Or ... join our Transport Team and be one of the lucky hands-on volunteers who delivers our rescued Goldens right into the arms of their loving new owners. There is nothing more gratifying.

Below you will find everything you need to know about volunteering for the Home Visit and Transport Teams. Well, mostly everything, but we’ve got fantastic leaders and experienced team members who will coach you every step of the way.

Interested? Don’t wait, please email our Director of Golden Rescue, Kerri Crabtree, at kerriwf@icloud.com right away. We especially need transporters in the East Valley and Home Visit volunteers for in-person visits in the West Valley, East Valley, and Central Phoenix.

An adorable puppy - or perhaps an abandoned Golden who at this moment is waiting desperately for rescue and reprieve - both are counting on you.

PURPOSE OF THE HOME VISIT TEAM:

Ÿ  To thoroughly evaluate adoption applicants to determine if they can provide an appropriate home for our rescued dogs

WHAT DOES A HOME VISIT VOLUNTEER DO?

Ÿ  Receives assignment, contacts applicant, schedules in-person home visit if applicant has resident dog(s) or virtual visit (Zoom, Facetime, etc.) if there are no dogs

Ÿ  For in-person visits, Volunteer takes his/her Golden and proceeds with approved dog introduction process prior to interview; then conducts structured interview and tours the home and property

Ÿ  Completes and submits a Home Visit Report using form provided

WHAT KIND OF TRAINING IS PROVIDED?

Ÿ  Very comprehensive! You will receive a Home Visit Manual including detailed descriptions of both in-person and virtual home visits, instructions for simple computer entries and how to prepare a brief report

Ÿ  On the job training through “ride-along” sessions with experienced team members

Ÿ  Easy and always-available access to Coordinator and Director as you learn the job

WHAT SKILLS DOES A HOME VISIT VOLUNTEER NEED?

Ÿ  Positive attitude and a willingness to learn

Ÿ  Ability to converse comfortably with applicants and follow our Home Visit protocols

Ÿ  Competency with using email and Word - we’ll train you on everything else

Ÿ  Driving for in-person visits

WHERE DO WE NEED HOME VISIT VOLUNTEERS?

Ÿ  West Valley, Central Phoenix, East Valley; our need is greatest for in-person home visits
