Sometimes, getting a Golden into rescue—or into their foster or forever home—is as simple as getting them from Point A to Point B.
But that journey is incredibly important. And we need volunteers to help make it happen!
🐾 JOIN OUR TRANSPORT TEAM!
Transport Team volunteers are the people who help safely move our Goldens where they need to go. You might pick up a dog from an owner surrender and bring them into rescue, or deliver a newly adopted Golden to their forever family.
Along the way, you’ll help make sure the paperwork, veterinary records, medications, and other important details make it safely from one place to the next.
💛 WHAT DOES A TRANSPORT VOLUNTEER DO?
Pick up a Golden being surrendered and obtain veterinary records, medications, and required paperwork if necessary.
Safely transport the dog to their foster home, adopter, or boarding facility.
Help with the handoff by providing basic information about veterinary care and appropriate RAGofAZ contacts.
Submit a simple transport report after the trip.

That's OK! We'll teach you everything you need to know.
New volunteers receive:
✔️ Written transport instructions
✔️ One-on-one training, including how to conduct dog introductions
✔️ Training on forms
✔️ Ongoing support from the team

You’re someone who:
🚗 Is comfortable driving alone with a properly secured dog
🧭 Can follow directions to an unfamiliar address
💛 Understands that surrendering a dog can be an emotional experience and approaches owners with compassion and sensitivity
📋 Is dependable, organized, observant, and attentive to details
💻 Can respond to email requests and complete simple computerized reports
