Available Dogs
Why are there so few, if any, available Goldens?
There is currently a shortage of Goldens needing new homes not just in Arizona, but nationwide. You may have read on our website or in our newsletters that our dedicated volunteers are actively engaged in acquiring unwanted Goldens from countries around the world. Because of these efforts, we hope to be shortening the waiting time for available dogs. Even so, we do have a waiting list of approved families looking for dogs.
These families filled out an application, had a Home Visit and were approved to adopt. When we do rescue a Golden, our Placement Team usually can find an approved home within hours. That is why you see few or none on our gallery of Available Goldens. They are adopted almost the same day as they are rescued.
Meanwhile, we encourage you to complete an application now, keeping in mind that the more flexible you are in defining what you are looking for - age, sex, health, etc. - the easier it will be to be matched with your forever friend.
